Road Closure Information

Road Construction Projects 2025

Road construction and utility relocations will create additional traffic congestion starting in mid-April. We will provide updated information on this webpage. A quicker source of information will be on the Town’s phone app. Search for Our Town Bristol Indiana, download the app and sign in. It’s a free service and will provide you with most recent and up to date construction information.

NIPSCO will begin installing new poles along Ponderosa Drive soon. We expect some traffic restrictions for the duration of the installation.

Construction update:  June 2, 2025

This information is the best we have available today,  and may change as projects progress.

Continuing: NIPSCO gas main work on Vistula Street west side of Town. Lane restrictions and eastbound traffic no left turn at stoplight.

Starting June 2:  CR 8/ North River Road is closed to thru traffic between CR 21 and North Division Street. Local traffic only will be allowed through the barricades. Detour is CR 21, CR 104/ North Division Street. The Town is working on a new water main. Timeline for reopening is not set.

Beginning June 9:  Toll Road related traffic increase. Road Closure Notice – SR 13 between CR 4 and the Toll Road Entrance will be closed on or after June 9 until September 19. The Indiana Toll Road hired Rieth-Riley Construction to replace the SR 13 bridge deck over I-80/I-90.  The official detour route is SR 13/US 131 to US 12 to M-105/SR 15 to SR 120.

For those with family, friends, and/or deliveries coming on I-80/I-90 to Middlebury, please advise them to use Toll Road Exit 101 in Bristol

The Middlebury Toll Road project is expected to create additional congestion on SR15/ Mottville Rd. and at the intersection at Vistula, Mottville, and Ponderosa Street.  Businesses located along Commerce Drive can assist in improving safety by communicating to their employees to use Blakesly and CR 4. The intersection of Commerce and SR 15/Mottville Rd.  has experienced a fatality this year and INDOT is considering changes to improve safety. The intersection of CR 4 and SR 15 has better sight lines and will allow traffic to enter SR 15 outside of what could become traffic stacking on SR 15.
