
Welcome to Bristol
Bristol was
platted in 1835
making it one of the oldest towns in Elkhart County. Originally, it was two villages: Bristol on the east side of Vistula Street and Sydneyham on the west. Eventually, the two developers agreed on the name of Bristol, after some of the residents’ former homes in the U.K.

Pickle Ball
Pickle Ball
Bristol’s pickleball courts at Cummins Park (behind the Elkhart Historical Museum) are open to the public. There are six courts: one does not require scheduling, while the others can be reserved for free using the Court Reserve app. Download the app, register under Cummins Courts, choose the free subscription, and you can schedule a court.
Kayak and Canoeing
Kayak and Canoeing on the St. Joe River
Launch sites are available at Congdon Park and Hermance Park. Hermance Park features a full accessible kayak launch. Kayak rentals are available:
