Legal and Public Hearing Notices
Written testimony for public hearings can be submitted to the Town Manager. Include name and address with comments. The written testimony becomes part of the public record and is consider by Council members the same as public comments during the public hearing. Written comments should be submitted by 1:00 pm the day of the hearing to ensure the Council has received them before the hearing.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON A
PETITION FOR VOLUNTARY ANNEXATION INTO THE TOWN OF BRISTOL, INDIANA
Notice is hereby given that the Town Council (the “Council”) of the Town of Bristol, Indiana (the “Town”), on March 5, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. (local time), at the Town Hall, 303 East Vistula Street, Bristol, Indiana 46507, will hold a public hearing during the regular meeting of the Council upon a proposed ordinance (the “Ordinance”) annexing real property located outside but contiguous to the corporate limits of the Town, consisting of seven (7) parcels located at County Road 14, Bristol, Indiana, Washington Township, Elkhart County, Indiana and identified in the Elkhart County, Indiana property records as Parcel Number(s) 20-07-04-101-001.000-019, 20-03-32-300-003.000-030, 20-03-32-300-007.000-030, 20-03-32-400-002.000-030, 20-03-32-400-003.000-030, 20-07-05-100-004.000-019, 20-07-05-200-004.000-019, consisting of approximately 529 acres (the “Annexation Territory”). Ronald L. Kauffman and Jane M. Kauffman, co-Trustees of the Ronald L. Kauffman and Jane M. Kauffman Trust dated July 15, 2004, and Ronald L. Kauffman and Jane M. Kauffman, individually, the 100% owner of the Annexation Territory, filed a petition for voluntary annexation into the Town with the Council on February 9, 2026, requesting the Ordinance (the “Petition”). The Petition, proposed Ordinance and map and legal description of the Annexation Territory are available for inspection by the public at the office of the Clerk Treasurer, located at 303 East Vistula Street, Bristol, Indiana 46507. The Council reserves the right, prior to taking final action, to amend the Ordinance. At the public hearing, all interested persons will have the opportunity to testify and be heard concerning the proposed Annexation Territory. The hearing may be continued to a later date or dates. Public Hearing to award Street Department building contract
Notice is hereby given that the Town Council (the “Council”) of the Town of Bristol, Indiana (the “Town”), on March 5, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. (local time), at Bristol Town Hall, 303 East Vistula Street, Bristol, Indiana 46507 (“Bristol Town Hall”), will hold a public hearing during the regular meeting of the Council concerning the recommendation to award a public-private agreement for the design, construction, operation, and transfer of a new Bristol Street Department garage facility (the “Project”), in accordance with Indiana Code 5-23 (the “Act”). Pursuant to the Act, the Council requested proposals and qualifications under the public-private partnership for the design, operating, financing and/or construction services for the Project to be located in the Town. Copies of the proposals and a written explanation of the basis upon which the recommendation is being made are with the Council and are available for public inspection at the Bristol Town Hall. The foregoing notice of public hearing is required by Indiana Code 5-23-5-9. The public is invited to comment on any of the matters herein noted, and all taxpayers, residents, or interested parties who appear will be given a reasonable opportunity to express their views on the recommendation.
